Why are most books about Buddhism written?
I would guess that the money and fame aspect aren’t really a factor. How often you have heard “the famous author of the book about Buddhism that topped all the lists?”. Probably never.
Most authors write books about Buddhism out of a wish to clarify, to explain, to give the gift of Buddha-dharma to all sentient beings.
Me? I dreamt about a Cat Buddha who told me to edit a teaching that we have into a book for cats. I don’t have the faintest idea if it will help someone, especially cats who are already Buddhas but here we are.
So, I present to you: Cat Buddhism!
