Lama Sherab will give an empowerment of Guru Rimpoche, the Peaceful Guru, fron the Namchö collection by Tërton Mingyur Dorje.
Padmasambhava, also known as Guru Rinpoche, holds a central and foundational position in Tibetan Buddhism as the figure who firmly established Buddhism in Tibet during the 8th century CE. Working alongside the Tibetan king Trisong Detsen and the Indian scholar Shantarakshita, he played a crucial role in taming the local spirits and converting them into protectors of the dharma, effectively synthesizing the existing Bon practices with Buddhist teachings in a way that allowed Buddhism to take root in Tibetan soil. His mastery of tantric practices and supernatural abilities earned him the title "Precious Guru," and he is often referred to as the "Second Buddha" in Tibet.
